recint is a mobile application for discovering, organizing, and sharing fashion. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the recint iOS application and to this website, including the beta waitlist.

Information We Collect

Information you give us.

• Account details — your email address and any profile information you choose to add when you create an account.
• Waitlist details — your email address, signup source, and subscription status, used to manage private beta access and invitations.
• Content — items you save or collect, lists you build, and anything you upload or share within the app.
• Messages to us — the contents of emails or support requests you send.

Information collected automatically.

• Usage data — searches you run, items you interact with, and how you use features, so we can improve the product and personalize recommendations.
• Device and technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and general location inferred from your IP address.

We do not collect precise geolocation data, and we do not ask for access to your contacts.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve recint.
• To personalize your experience, including recommendations.
• To manage the private beta: waitlist, invitations, and access.
• To communicate with you about updates, features, invitations, and support.
• To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

Analytics & Cookies

The website uses privacy-focused, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, country-level location). This data is not tied to your identity. We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site cookies.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us operate — hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and crash reporting. They are bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us. Our current providers include our website host, our application backend host, and Apple (TestFlight) for beta distribution.
• Legal recipients, if required by law or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of recint, our users, or the public.
• A successor entity, if recint is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information, and we will notify you of any change in ownership.

Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active or while you remain on the waitlist. If you delete your account or unsubscribe from the waitlist, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer or where limited records are needed to resolve disputes or enforce agreements. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit — to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is completely secure; if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

Your Rights & Choices

Wherever you live, you can:

• Access, correct, or delete your account information in the app's settings, or by contacting us.
• Unsubscribe from the waitlist or promotional email at any time via the link in those messages. You may still receive essential transactional messages about your account.
• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to correct it, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA.

EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions. We process your information on the legal bases of contract performance (providing the service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the service), and consent (marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time). You additionally have the rights to object to processing, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

International Transfers

recint is operated from the United States. If you use our services from elsewhere, your information is transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Children

recint is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at contact@recint.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
